OUTLOOK AND CONCLUSIONS

The preliminary results of the 1996 test run have indicated that the NA48 detector works according to expectations at nominal beams intensity. In 1997, the LKr calorimeter will be fully read-out and additional processors for the Charged and Neutral Triggers will be available to cope with higher trigger rates. About 120 days of beam time starting next April are scheduled in 1997. It is expected then to collect more than 10 decays superseeding in one year of data taking the statistical precision of the NA31 experiment for the measurement[5].
