The endcap electromagnetic calorimeter consists of two dome-shaped arrays, each of 1132 lead glass blocks, located between the pressure bell of the central tracking system and the pole tip hadron calorimeter, covering the full azimuthal angle 0.81 < |cos(theta)| < 0.98.
